Monitoring Installation
In June and July monitoring equipment was successfully installed across each of our six Reclaim the Rain communities. A range of devices, including gauge boards, water and peak level recorders, flow monitors, rain gauges, and CCTV equipment are now live and recording real-time data. These devices will provide valuable localised data collection specific to each of our catchment areas now and until project completion in 2027. Not only can recorded information be shared with local residents and landowners, but will provide Reclaim the Rain with an objective dataset of the hydrology in each community pre- and post-project delivery.
The monitoring equipment regularly sends data back to us and is available to view via an online portal. Viewing of this data can be tailored to display a specific community, a set period of time, or to understand the changes in a catchment’s hydrology during a specific storm event. We are asking for local volunteers in each of our catchment areas, to carry out simple but essential checks on this equipment, to ensure it continues to gather accurate data. If anyone is interested in learning more about the monitoring devices or the data collected to date, please get in touch with us.
